Before your appointment

Your first appointment

If this is your first visit, there is no reason to feel anxious. The first appointment is mainly an introduction: we will discuss your history and the reason that brings you here, with all the time each of your questions needs.

What to expect

The visit always begins with a conversation. Depending on the reason for your visit, a clinical examination or an ultrasound scan may follow - always after you have been told what will happen and why. Whatever is done, is done with discretion and respect.

There is no rush. You will have the time to describe what concerns you and to ask whatever you wish. The aim is for you to leave with a clear picture of your situation and a clear next step - whether that is simple monitoring or a further test.

What it would help to have with you

  • ID and social security number (AMKA)
  • Previous test results or reports, if you have any (Pap test, ultrasound scans, blood tests)
  • Any medication you are taking
  • The date of your last period
  • If you are pregnant: your pregnancy tests and scans, if monitoring has already begun

Good to know

You are welcome to bring someone with you, if that makes you feel more comfortable. No question is unnecessary - the practice is a place where you can speak freely, without judgement. Consultations are also available in English.
